this has all happened before and will happen again.

i've seen it a thousand times on this forum, that the members "rage hate" on something so horribly bad before it is out, and then when it comes out, the ones who original made the biggest fuss about it, are the first to "redeem" it.

i feel this is no different than any other "rage hate" threads, like sandy bridge not being able to overclock or "bulldozer" being better than intel's offering, or how crappy nvidia roadmap is compared to ati's.

so far the biggest complaint i've seen is "press start to begin", the ones who have a problem with that make me sick to be honest, press any key like you normally do and move on, and it not being dx11 at launch, seriously? it should be obvious by now, there isn't a whole lot of difference between dx 9, 10 and 11...

as for crysis 2, i liked it, i was able to play it without problem, and kept good frame rates. i would much rather play and own a game that i can play well with a single card, that doesn't cost a extraordinarily amount of money.

at some point, you all who do build these really expensive "gaming" rigs will have to realize, game developers aren't going to make any money stroking your epeen or petting your itwat, be realistic in your expectations, life will be a lot more satisfying...don't blame crytek or the console market for your percieved deficiency, place the blame where it belongs.

Because DX9 was the biggest jump in graphics quality ever? Even bigger than DX9-DX10 or DX10-DX11.

Will Crysis 2 receive a texture update via patch?

That's the difference between the original and the current one.

They're just saying this because of the exceptionally poor reception the demo received.

I'll wait for some comments from members on here when they play the actual version though.

No I play in DX9 and it is IDENTICAL to DX10..

Just in CvarGroups folder in every .cfg file copy settings from Sys spec 4 to Sys spec 3 and then by running game on High settings (DX9) you will be actually using Very high in game settings..

CHEERS..

While I'm happy that Crytek plans to add DX11 support to PC version, that doesnt mean the game will look significantly better than DX9 maxed out. It could just be an optimized code path for better performance on DX11 hardware.

I've made comparision about year ago for Crysis with edited CvarGroups file and original DX10 game, and there was a difference. Hard to saw but there was a difference in lightning and some effects. DX9 with edited CvarGroups was not full DX10 mode. Not all effects were enable.

1/10 dude.

DX11 Patch sounds more like being late rather than anti-piracy. And a DX11 Patch will only most likely add some DLL files, not going to fight piracy.

Crysis 1 flopped, Crysis 2 will flop on the PC but do well on consoles.

I don't care whether Crysis is DX9, 10 or 11, it doesn't interest me in the least. If I wanted to play a game with a laughable story I'd play something that's at least fun.
