I think your screenshots prove the point nicely that C1 looks better than C2. Fallout 3 and NV have better graphics and a wider mod community.

Definitely not buying C2 for a while. Debated pre-ordering with myself for a bit. Portal2 gets my money without question. Not going to buy a game that is broken on release in hopes that a publisher will one day release a patch.

As a side note: I just downloaded and played the Crysis 2 demo again on the xbox....boy I tell ya, makes me really appreciate the PC version.

That is remarkably awful. I have a hunch Crytek is going to lose money on this mistake.

Going to get shogun2 instead of this, the demo only reinforced my belief that it was going to be a better game (shogun).

I don't see them doing very well on the consoles either. Most of my friends only play xbox and they weren't even aware of crysis.

I didn't want a game that busts my rig up like the first did when it came out. I wanted a game with better gameplay, which this has, and hopefully a better story. I don't want to have to spend £800 on 2 GTX580's just to get playable framerates.

The game looks beautiful as it is. Its just because its not in a jungle environment that it doesn't require the same level of detail to pull it off. A flat wall is easier then tree's after all. I think it's going to sell pretty well. Everywhere I go aside from OCN seems to be enjoying it.
Then you shouldn't be playing FC and crysis at release, simple as that. Those games were known to push boundaries and Crytek was at the helm, not so sure anymore if what I'm hearing is true :/
I only had an HD3850 when Crysis was released, but, regardless of the 20fps I got @1025 @ VH, I loved the game and played halfway through until I got my 8800gts 512 then I finished it. What I liked about the game was the way it was designed. I haven't played the demo, so, I can't comment, but, what gets to me is based around what they released for the demo. As I recall, DX10 was in the crysis demo and you had the whole first level of the game which was HUGE. After playing that demo, I bought the game right away, same with bioshock. I liked it for being both a benchmark and an amazing game that shows technology along with the nanosuit functions, etc.... I plan to give the Crysis 2 demo a fair shot before deciding whether to get it or not. I still find it bizzare that they chose MP, no DX11 and didn't remove that start thing and uncheck the autoaim :/

Actually, you just proved that crysis 1 is superior in gfx to crysis 2 Nice try though

And I bought two, TWO copies of Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead for $60 each on RELEASE day. That's $240 I spent on Crysis 1 and Warhead. I won't even pay $5 for this crap port, at least not in the current Demo state.

"Press Start" to begin. Screw that! My keyboard doesn't have a Start button!
Agree'd im putting my money on BF3 not going to get Crysis 2 at all

Just played a bit of the demo, and honestly, what a waste of time. I've never been a huge Crytek fan really. But with all the issues with even trying to connect to a demo server, account issues (all my emails are in use, but when I go to retrieve my password, the email never comes) and just the crappy gameplay, I'm happy I didn't preorder. I honestly wouldn't even pay $10 for this game at this point.
So technically, it didn't cost them a preorder in my case, but they aren't getting my money at all.
Still waiting for BF3 though. (Preordered that already)

same. i'll be buying Shogun 2 first and then Crysis 2 or Dragon Age 2. funny enough it's the only big release in March that i've been looking forward to that hasn't left me being rather disappointed.

I might buy it when they release the DX11 patch that should've been shipped with the game on release day. And that's not because I care that much about DirectX 11, it's out of principle really. I'm not just talking about Crytek here either, I'm just sick of game developers in general saying "Oh yeah, we're doing that, just post-release."

You want to give me the rest of the content post release? Fine, but I'm buying the game post release then. Fair right?

Truth. Shogun 2 is a good example of how a demo should be released, not in the way Crysis 2 was demo'd where it feels like it isn't complete. Still runs pretty well, though I'll just hold off till it falls in price, got other games to finish but maybe later this year I'll pick it up, once the modding community has some fun with it.
