955@ 4ghz with CnC

Thread Starter
i have a stable clock @4ghz with my 955. multiplier 16x250, NB 2750mhz

my question is i was running with cool n quite off at first but i updated my bios and now im trying with it on and going to see if it is still stable but my question is before i was running CnC i had 1.394 volt or something like that wich is stock. but now when i enabled CnC i only have 1.28 volts while loading CPU in prime and clocks are the same and everything. just lucky with stable chip or is this normal? or should i be worried?

Edit: sorry spoke too soon worker #4 stopped. guessing unstable core at this voltage? or something else?

If the reading is correct then most likely the core is unstable at that voltage. Activating CnQ shouldn't decrease load voltage.

well trying another run now with CnC off at same speeds but now when i turned CnC off my voltage while in P95 running small ftts is only 1.272. will run this for 12hrs and see if its stable. but otherwise to increase voltage in my bios do i increase "CPU offset? im not to fimiliar with where i am supposed to increase beacuse it dosent simply say vcore.

I've noticed that on some chips...that raising the cpu-multiplier causes CnQ to work rather strangely i.e. lower voltages at load. Try overclocking with the FSB only and see if that helps...or you can try increasing the cpu-nb voltage...the safe voltage for that is 1.5v but at the 2700mhz you are running 1.3-1.4 should be good enough.
