tbh i would not believe those specs at all:

Try again buddy.

1. Minimum requirements are there for running the game at lowest graphical settings (barely) and lowest resolution, I'm running it at highest settings and a decent resolution on a severely under-spec'd PC.
2. I never plan on running anything above DirectX 9 on this PC, and I can still run some games at same or better visual settings than the consoles.

What I am laughing at though, is that ancient desktop CPU technology can still compare with "t3h p0w@h of tha Cell" or 360s tri-core, both of which have games coded directly to use all available hardware. I'd like to see how they'd run games with a bloated x86 OS in the background and emulating games through software drivers, chances are they'd struggle on lowest settings if that was the case. The day they start coding PC games to use the hardware directly is the day I'll see no need to even consider getting a console. 7800GT being called a "Reality Synthesizer"...makes me laugh out loud every time I hear it.

I will agree your machine is doing quite well running this game.. keep in mind its a DEMO.. the actual game may have more bells and whistles in it, that may bog down your machine.. It appears that this demo is just a bad console port (press start to begin, really?) so it requires less machine power to run it..

Cross your fingers that you'll still be able to run it at almost max when it is release! again, I am very impressed with your rig! I'll have to check my frames when I get home to see what my rig runs it at. but I know at hardcore and 1680x1080 my machine didnt break a sweat..

again, demos are for a little taste of what a game will be.. some people cant wrap their heads around that..BFBC2 ran like crap for me as a demo.. but after the final was released, and a few game patches and driver updates, its like glass at all max.

Amen to that. I ran the Mafia 2 demo before I ran the game. The demo ran like crap. The actual game now runs twice as fast as the demo.

OK I read somewhere that you can edit the config to disable certain settings in the demo, like motion blur. I'm gonna have a go at changing them, as motion blur always lags up by using the CPU to make this effect.

Don't you realise that the beta is the same as the one in XBOX360? Crytek shipped the DVDs with a later revision.

It's very very unlikely that the shipped version of the game shares engine with the demo, basically because Crytek said it'd look much better.

You now what else you can do ? Add at least another 1 GB of RAM. It will improve your framerates. Those games will benefit from at least 3GB (not much more because of Windows XP being 32-bit, but still).

I could notice a distinct improvement when I added 2 GB to my 2GB of RAM on my Media Center when playing Crysis Warhead at 720p, Radeon HD4670 512MB GDDR3, Pentium Dula COre E5300 @ 3 Ghz.

By the way, have you tried to lower the overclock on the CPU and up the ram speed to see what is more worth it ?

My motherboard only has 2 memory slots, and DDR1 memory modules above 1GB don't exist unfortunately.

And my memory clock speed is tied down to the CPU clock rate. The higher the CPU overclock, the faster the memory goes, and I can't seem to change this. Putting it manually to 200MHz in the BIOS doesn't work, as it will clock it back down. The "By SPD" option seems to be the best one, since it ups the RAM speed when I overclock my CPU. Any other option keeps my RAM at about 327MHz.

That would be because the board only supports 333DDR
