Technically you only need the first one, but in order to get from lvel 60 to 85, you will need them all. Also, I'm pretty sure you can just convert your trial account to a full account to not have to restart.

If you're not in the mood to pay for 4 games, check out Rift, pretty damn good MMO in my opinion.

You can upgrade your trial acc to a full version or w/e it is you have to buy all expansions (imo play until level 60 see if you like it and then buy the rest of them)

Confused why you are implying Rift is free. Its 49.99 plus a monthly scrip.

Not bashing it, jut saying need to provide correct info. I play Rift and will never go back to WoW. Wow is dead in our house, and its not coming back !

The way that World of Warcraft works is different to traditional PC games, in that the game disks are effectively useless. Instead, you're paying for the unique CD-KEY which comes in the box. You then tie this key to your game account, allowing you to enjoy the features which that game/expansion unlocks.

As a result, you're actually going to need to buy 4 games (The core WoW/Burning Crusade/Lich King/Cataclysm) in order to enjoy World of Warcraft in full.

You are already in possession of all the game files, you see, because each user is required to have the most up to date version of the game before they can access the servers.

If you upgrade your current trial account with each CD key, then you will be able to continue with your current character. Personally, I would advise buying the games one at a time. You will only need the core World of Warcraft up until level 60, BC for 60-70, and so on.

WoW definitely is dead, so many guilds disbanded already... : / Mine just disbanded, that was the end for me http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...aelleth/simple

Rift is new.. you might wanna try it, I personally would never play that game, ever.

I was not implying that Rift is free, I simply said that if he doesnt feel like paying for 4 games, he can give Rift a try since he would only need to purchase 1 game...

Sorry if I have to spell out everything for you.

Well for one, no need to attack me, I was simply stating what you said was incorrect. I for one count 49.99 as purchasing a game, and believe anyone else would too. Was only saying you stating the information as you did was incorrect.

If your looking to flame post, I suggest you find a different forum. I am here to help, not argue.

Once you hit the level cap, its becomes a totally different game, a much better one imo, so I would get it all.

Purchasing Vanilla only at the start will mean you don't get access to 4 races: blood elves, worgen, goblins, draenei

and you can't make a death knight once you hit 55.

You can purchase it all through your blizzard account, it's worth it.
