Simple answer: no
Yes your 775w psu should be fine as long as it's a quality one like Thermaltake, Corsair, OCZ etc...

If you sli 580's then I would suggest an 800-850w+ psu. 1kw is still overkill though.

Yes.
850W is the suggested wattage for 480s and 580s in SLI, but 750W works.
