SAD!!! I think I'll get it for the PC, no xbox over here. ='(

Hopefully this gets some attention from the wine devs.

nice work

but you know what the windows fanboi's will say when they see this, "it is because it is a crappy console port!"

we've already decided here at my house, we are purchasing this for the xbox's as it would cost more to upgrade the other windows machine in the house, and to purchase new mouse and keyboard for mine, plus like everyone we know is on xbox live, it is just easier for us to conform than to get them too so we will suffer thru "crappy console ports" hehe.

but again, good job, its always great to see things like this.

but i do have a question for you, you are recompiling wine correct? to get xinput? or is their a "module" for it, cause no matter how many times i use winetricks and install the xinput driver, i don't get xinput support!

(and if you would be so kind, do a quick write up on the compiling process, like what, if any flags you are using and configuration options and when you apply the patch, cause i've also tried to recompile it with the xinput patch as well, and it craps out on me.)

So you won't run windows for gaming on your main system, but you'll play it on a system that runs modified windows code(DX, etc..) from the makers of Windows? Pretty powerful statement you're making.

Out with you! My threads stay fanboi free!

I'm using the Xinput patch. I had to re-compile it and remove the Crysis 2 memory patch, apparently that causes crashing.

I want to know what's actually causing the memory leak, if it's within Xorg/Wine/Something else? The problem is I usually have to restart or kill Xorg, usually have to restart. =( I wonder if I can disable something? I'll do more testing.

well...where do i even begin with this...

since you wanted to be a complete and totally ignorant fanboi and not even bothered yourself with reading the whole thread, i will now not attempt to cushion my comments as not to make you feel like a complete and utter moron.

in a previous thread, i do state that i have windows, that i installed the demo of crysis 2 in windows, i even played the crysis 2 in windows, after playing it xbox 360. since it is so little few times i actually get to quote myself, i will now just for "effect":

i only attempted to install it wine AFTER playing it on xbox and windows. i don't play games in linux, i often as a hobby, will see if i can get windows software to run in linux thru wine, isn't that apart of being an "enthusiast" making things do what they weren't intended to do?

i would also like to note, we have 3 xbox's in the house, none are my own. my brother in law, got a new one for xmas with the kinect, a present from his wife, he gave his old one to his children, to replace their one with the broken dvd drive, i then proceeded to take the broken one, and "fix" it and turned it into a media center for the kids, but sense that is no no talk on this forum, i don't often talk about the brilliance that is xbox 360 hacking...

so like i often tell most fanboi trolls who fail epically hard when they try to be smart or even cute, go back, double, triple, quadruple check your facts, so you don't come off as a dumbass.

LOL So I don't know if it's Server 2008 or what but the game crashes in Windows a LOT. By a LOT I mean more than once a night, which isn't good for games crashing. =( I bet when this gets released it'll work in wine, there are obvious bugs to fix on their side.

i think you should reinstall... (j/k)

I played it for only a few hours all together in WINDOWS 7 pro, it only crashed once and that was when i first installed it, it couldn't decide which monitor it wanted to go on (as it bounced between the primary and the secondary 3 or 4 times, then the little box popped up saying "crysis2.exe has stopped responding")

if i still had the demo on my hdd (the installable exe) i would give it a go again in wine, to see if i could help troubleshoot your memory leak. from exp, memory leaks are caused by poor code that loops, so more than like it is in wine (as I didn't notice one when I ran it in WINDOWS)

Great to hear, hopefully when it's fully released it'll run decently enough.

Linux gaming FTW.
