Which is already a $500 upgrade, the price of a new console or even 2 if they're older.

Oh but yeah everything is the fault of the lazy developers who often have to work more than 14H in a row, they're so lazy that even Gabe Newell expresses concern for them:

To everyone saying to get out of the PC market I'm just going to love when in two or three years there won't be any AAA titles relased, we'll see then if you'll be happy with only indie games like you claim.
This site should be renamed pirating.net, it's disgusting to read users after users justifying piracy and blaming the "lazy develoers".

It's actually higher according to my research...But, that's me 'just sayin'.

The major difference between console and PC isn't necessarilly the pirating, although that's a major factor...It's getting a game to work on 100+ different combinations of hardware vs 1.

Make a good game. Buy it.

Make a bad game, dont buy it.

Two things, if you spend $500 on a GPU, you don't get to complain about it. The most I have ever spent on a GPU was $300 and that was a bit much.

Second, if developers work 14 hour shifts, they have unrealistic deadlines placed on them. They (the company) want to make money by reducing the hours spent paying developers to do their job.

Blame the accountants, I never said they were lazy.

Make the price of games affordable. Games which I can DL on steam (no box, no CD, no paying Gamestop) should be cheap. All you are providing is the digital content.

I wasn't adressing you about the lazy developpers comment, I should have been clearer about that. I said $500 because you said GPU and maybe CPU that's why.

When you bring in consoles, a single platform with a single configuration, it makes that side of the job much easier for them, allowing them to focus on other aspects of the game instead of making sure it works on the limitless combinations of hardware for PC. If you were a developer, I think this would be more of a question of 'what is a better way to spend my time' than being lazy or not. All I know is, if I was a developer, I would make the same decisions they are, and chances are so would you so your studio could continue to grow and prosper.
Which means it is cheaper to develop games on a console people!!!

I'm agreeing with your statement 100%. Just shouting to the masses.

If it's cheaper to develop on consoles, wouldn't you then want to save money by developing for them first or maybe even primarily. It's more about economics than it is piracy.

Yeah yeah yeah Mr White Knight. Get of your high tower.
First of all, unless your psychic, there is no way you can know what we will feel like when there are no more AAA titles.

Second, if you buy a $500 GPU, you get to play the games on maximum settings. What settings do the consoles run on?
I really love how you can read straight into my head!!!

"Take care of your customers or someone else will."

A well known business saying that fits everything out there.
PC gaming is far from dead, even if piracy were nearly as bad of a threat as they let on, someone will still make great games because there is still money to be made there.
