My first SSD, please help me out!

Thread Starter
So I bought a Crucial c300 128gb sata3 ssd (and samsung f3 1TB hdd).
Already installed os on ssd and i must say i loads AMAZINGLY FAST )
but do I install games on ssd? (cause a friend said that I should not install my games on ssd it will make ssd read and write all the time which is really bad for my ssd)
Is this true? What shall I do?
Also I heard about RAID but still could not understand what it is!
Thanks for your help, this is my first build

Friend is a moron.
C300 is also rated conservatively for 72 TB of writes, therefore you would have to write 40 GB per day for 5 years to achieve this figure.

For RAID you need more than one drive.

They don't write to it any more than they would a normal HDD, your load is the same.
Games generally don't write, anyway. The majority of disk activity is loading maps/textures/models into RAM.

The purpose of RAID is to use 2 or more drives together in order to obtain increased performance and/or data security.

So I guess yes. but i raid set up automatically or do I have to do it?

As there are varying implementations of RAID, you have to set it up yourself.

You don't have enough drives to consider it, kind of a moot point.

RAIDING an SSD with an HDD is the worst idea ever, as performance in an array is always gimped to that of a slower drive. A RAID 0 array of Samsung F3's will perform the same as a RAID 0 array with one Samsung F3 and any faster disk ($3k SSD's, etc).
