**FINISHED!!!** Crysis 2 vs Crysis 1: Final Showdown

Well here we are I am a man of my word. This will finally give us an idea of how well crysis 2 takes the crown from the previous crysis. This is an original matched against the sequel, a civil conflict between two games known for revolutionizing the gaming experience. I will state that no mods or third party software are involved other then a few custom maps used for crysis. This is a match of the two dx9 versions. Crysis is set at high across the board and crysis 2 set to extreme. Later I will replace all photos with maxed out shots of crysis and dx11 shots of crysis 2 once(if) a patch is released. If you would like to know what kind of hardware I am using you can find the system details below.
**IMPORTANT NOTE: All screen shots are taken by me and only me. None are from the net or from any other source.

I tried my hardest to compare them fairly, this is difficult because the settings in both games are completely different. So most of my shots are just random but have a pretty good capture of the environment, so they won't be so specific as they may have been in my older thread. PM me for any suggestions

CONCLUSION

OK OK... I admit, when you compare these two setting crysis 2 does look better in most aspects of the game. I like the color, it is very vibrant and the world is pretty detailed. It is not the best looking game out there though and I think we were all hoping for it to be. Maybe dx11 will do something I don't know but I doubt it. I am hoping there is going to be extreme tessellation because alot of the textures look really flat. Overall It looks good, the lighting is very nice, I love the shadows but I still dislike some of the bloom. Personally with mods I think crysis has the capability of looking better and I can't wait for mods on the sequel. Crysis is very detailed, its fault is the dull lighting and bland colors. But for a 2007 game it is very impressive. Well there you go, and I am not done yet I will change the pictures once the patch is released but for now this is where it ends. They both cut it close but I would have to say crysis 2 pulls ahead a bit. Thank you for reading!!!!

EDIT: Another thing I would really like to add is the game is really fun... and I can see myself playing it again when I am finished which I never say except for a few old classics that I really love. The gameplay is pretty unique and it offers a good play time.

Hmmm was looking at a thread in NVIDIA that was just recently posted saying dx11 may not come? is this true? Or does anyone know anything yet.

The DX11 files are already in the files. I don't see why they would cancel it if most of the renderer is already there.

those shots look pretty good, but still am disappointed, maybe I was hoping for to much but at least I got bf3 to look forward to. Its just not as detailed as I was hoping but oh well. Still wanna do the comparison and will change the shots when the dx11 patch is released. So please no complaining about not waiting for the patch, I will replace the shots.
