Of course Crytek doesnt OWE anyone anything. My point is they have been trolling the PC community ever since crysis 2 development was announced. Every step of the way they spew out marketing jargon and now that we actually have the product in our hands we can see its all just fud.
Sorry but I still disagree, the product is not a fud IMO. It's an amazing game that looks great and plays well. Most started playing, disliked the changes and quit without giving it a fair chance at all. Once patch 1.2 is released, hopefully MP issues and some SP bugs will be fixed so that the game plays flawlessly
There is practically no diffrence between Xbox360 and PC versions of this game and while that would be all fine and well for your average console port, its a letdown when the whole basis of their marketing campaign was "its not an average console port".
There is a difference, a thread on here was posted maybe 2-3 days back with a pdf talking about CE3 and what Crytek changed between the PC and console versions. I read the whole thing, it was pretty interesting to say the least. Unlike Crysis, in Crysis 2, lowering settings from let's say extreme to hardcore, etc... means that you'll still see all features, just less of them(best way I can explain it). This is in contrast to Crysis where they would completely turn off the feature. This is why you'll see similar gfx at lower settings but the fps increases
If you went to a store and saw a big old box with a picture of a fancy computer case and all kinds of hyped up marketing about its awesome new features, and when you purchased and brought it home it was just a stock dell case with a diffent plastic shell on the outside, would you still think the company was made of lolipops and rainbows? Oh... well it looks like you did ; )
I think TwoCables said it best:
