As someone else said, it's pointless when the res is so low.
I looked at the [H] thread and this guy has some good points:
He doesn't seem unbiased, but he has some good points when you ignore some of his anger:
Crysis 2 seems to have ignored texture quality. Crysis has some amazing textures as seen in his pics and it doesn't seem like Crysis 2 has that for now (but might get it when DX11 comes out).
Physics seem to be very different. He says that vegetation isn't interactive in Crysis 2 which sounds disappointing although it's a minor issue in a New York setting.
Size of maps seems very different. I knew that Crysis 2 went for linearity with better story over being a sandbox, but I'd imagined that there was quite a lot of huge areas to explore. Doesn't seem like it.
Also, I liked his ending comment: "Really what it comes down to is that Crysis 2 is more colorful, yet technically and visually inferior. IMO Crysis 1 is actually better optimized than Crysis 2 when considering the size, scope, and detail of the environments it presents."
I don't have the game, so it'd be awesome if the stuff about size of maps and physics was confirmed by someone with the game. Textures will have to wait until we get DX11.Edited by B!0HaZard - 3/23/11 at 11:48am
