Not sure if I should be upset with EVGA or not.

Thread Starter
I bought a EVGA 570 a few days ago. It was this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130613

On EVGA's website It says "This product comes with a Limited Lifetime warranty with registration within 30 days of purchase"
http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...012-P3-1571-KR

EDIT: EVGA has changed their website now to reflect the correct warranty. HERE is a cached page of the way the page looked when I bought the card

I emailed EVGA's support about this issue and they responded as so:

EVGA support sent me this message
Question Date: 03/01/2011

Q: According to your page http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...012-P3-1571-KR My graphics card comes with a Lifetime warranty, But in my control panel here on your site after I registered the card it says that it has only a 3 year warranty. What is going on?

Answer Date: 03/02/2011

A: Hello, I apologize for the confusion, however KR is a 3 year warranty, please see www.evga.com/support/warranty This is being passed on to programming to get it fixed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you have further issues please feel free to email us back or call support anytime 24/7. Thanks EVGA Tech Support

Answered By Steve C (03/02/2011 10:31:26 AM): Dear Nick,

Regrettably this product does not come with a lifetime warranty. Nor would we be able to provide you with anything other then the 3 year warranty this card was intended to come with.

Thank you,
EVGA Tech Support

What are your thoughts? Should I call them and ask to speak with a manager and cause chaos or just deal with having a 3 year warranty on my new video card that I thought would be lifetime? In all honesty they are falsifying information on their website that could change your decision when purchasing a card. I honestly would not have purchased that model of card If I knew it did not come with a lifetime warranty.

Yeh, they changed their warranty policy a month or two ago. You should have checked.

You have to look at the serial number, the card you bought ends in KR which has a 3 year warranty. For the life time warranty you need to buy a card that ends with AR. The only difference between the cards are those two letters. Also I believe the KR cards are ~ $5-$10 cheaper and that's how they lure you in. I almost made the same mistake.

So your upset NOW because of something that MIGHT happen down the road with your card and it not being under warranty. I take it your not returning it to evga right now.. Im curious myself, bc I thought all their cards are lifetime warranty. Raising chaos wont change there policy though I can guarantee that. GL. hope nothing goes wrong. I doubt anything will.

Ugh thats kinda retarded IMHO. I guess its okay because I only ended up paying $310 for the card after rebates, and I will most likely upgrade before 3 years is up any ways.

They are not "falsifying information on their website".
It is your fault:
1) model numbers are different: 012-P3-1571-AR vs 012-P3-1571-KR
2) Newegg lists the warranty as 3 years:
Quote:
Parts 3 years limited
Labor 3 years limited

I am going to keep the card, and I have called their support and they did say that they were sorry and blah blah blah, It just slightly angers me that they changed their warranty policy just to trick people into getting the cheaper cards who are misinformed like I was about their warranties.
