So i can buy i7 920 and 5970 will run smoothly ..? i saw that in splinter cell conviction with parts like mine dude had 60 fps.. and i only had 23.. biggrin.gif

Understand this: the Q8300 you had was quite enough for Splinter Cell. The i7 920 would be an improvement of course, but your FPS problem did not come from your Q8300.

I have never seen some body playing with intel core 2 quad and 5970.. everybody have i5,i7.. maybe the mother board was the problem.. because when i entered the bios, on the right side of it was red text that says you vga card isnt running properly.. or something like that..

But the 920 isnt too slow..? i was wondering about i7 960 but is the performance worth the money..? you get like 0.6 fps increase

The i7 920 is fine. It's definitely not worth the price difference to get an i7 960 instead. The i7 920 can very easily be overclocked to the level of an i7 960 and beyond.
