I'm used to having a borked up cheapo MSI board that had the voltage fluctuate by as much as 0.15v, CNQ disabled, so it'll be something I'm used to.

the m4a79xtd is a good board. used it before i got the msi board i have now. i unlocked a ph ii x2 550 @ 3.8ghz w/ 1.5v, ph ii x6 1055t @ 4.0ghz w/ 1.55v, and a athlon ii x4 640 @ 3.6ghz w/ 1.55v as well.

On an unrelated note, you sure that Athlon needed 1.55v? Mine and a lot of others hit 3.55GHz on stock volts Only found that out after putting 1.52v through mine myself though lol.

Lol, fair do's

Got this board today, was a bit worried when I saw the Asus RMA sticker stamped on it, gonna mail it to them and try and figure out the history of the board... bit miffed there's no backplate too as it wasn't mentioned, but still worth it for £51.04 deffo. Having used budget boards all my life I can tell this is a quality bit of kit

How high could I safely take it? 160W? MOSFET heatsink feels ice cold at 95W. Is 140W my max? Don't forget it is an 8+2 heatsinked board.

Given its already RMA'd status and therefore probably a complete lack of warranty, I'm not too keen on pushing it very far.

Cheers
