Please stop quoting their marketing numbers. I doubt anyone really believes that they're accurate.

It's what they said, so it's all we got to go on until they ship. And, if they're using the SGX543MP2 it doesn't surprise me.

Just for some cool info about the Xoom. I am using is right now and it's really quite awesome. VERY fast and easy to use. The current 3G capability can be upgraded to LTE (when available next 90 days supposedly) at no cost for the physical (must be sent in) upgrade with a 6day turn around with there will be no additional monthly cost. I am using the no contract setup. Not sure if the contract would be any different but I doubt it. $20.00 a month for 1GB.

The 32GB built in with the micro SD is really nice.

First thing you notice is that is feels heavy. GREAT battery life. 11Hrs+ easy of video.

If anyone cares. Apparently LTE is going to be a major network throughout a minimum of 70 countries.

<3 run on sentences :-p

This link shows the PowerVR processors clock rate, triangles per second, etc., unless I'm reading it wrong, it appears one SGX543 offers exactly 2.5x the performance of the SGX535 at the same clock speed (200MHz).

The iPhone 3GS pushes out 28m triangles per second therefore its SGX535 must be clocked at 400MHz, so one SGX543 @ 400MHz would be 70m triangles per second which is right below the Tegra 2's 71m. The SGX543MP2 would produce 140m triangles per second.

That's 5x the performance right there, if Apple upped the clock speed a bit they could hit 9x. We won't know for sure until it's released, but it certainly isn't impossible they've got an SGX543MP2 @ ~700MHz.

They might even be able to have one GPU core shut off or downclock when it isn't needed, so for general use or lightweight games it's only using one core and when it needs the second it kicks in.

I'll offer my two cents.

I use mine mostly for reading news and current events. I have a myriad of apps for that. Also use it to browse the web, shopping, email, netflix, access my other computers remotely, music, photos, videos, and I plug my guitar up to it from time to time (amplitube app is awesome). I've got the Kindle app for books and the Nook Kids app for my daughter (who loves the iPad by the way). Lots of apps for kids, lots of games. Also pop it in the car with a headrest thing for travel so it's like a mobile entertainment center.

Sure, lots of these things you can do on a netbook but in my opinion (from previous experience with my old netbook), the iPad does the above far better and more intuitively. Regular tasks are made easy and more enjoyable. Other tablets I'm sure will offer the same experience in that regard. It's more natural for me to lounge around with an ipad than a clamshell netbook with a tiny trackpad. It's just a far better user experience. And you don't have to worry about running a full blown OS on a chintzy, cheap computer (quality of lower end netbooks is undeniably bad).

The official statement is “Adobe Flash expected Spring 2011". But a hint to better zone in on the exact date I also found this: European Xoom will have Flash at launch in the first week of April

Lets see... Samsung could use their OWN chip that is better than the Tegra 2 instead of paying a premium for the Tegra 2 and they choose the Tegra 2?

Waiting for, "but but but Google chose Tegra 2 as the reference processor for Honeycomb!"

I want to know how you know that the A5 is using the Samsung Orion?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tegra 2 graphics are better than the graphics that come with the Orion, but the A5 isn't just that CPU (assuming it is that Orion CPU). It's a SoC that includes the CPU, PowerVR graphics (SGX543MP2) and RAM packages, etc.

The SGX543 at 400MHz has the equivalent graphics power of the Tegra 2, if the iPad is using an SGX543MP2 it will greatly trump it. And, if what Apple reports is true, the 9x increase in performance, it'll flog it (being 3-4x more powerful).

iPad 2 FTW!!! Hopefully about a year from now the tablet market will be pretty even and it will come down to which tablet has the best hardware.

Wheres your proof the iPad 2 is using the SGX543MP2? Oh wait I know! Its because thats assumption of the people because they are all figuring it uses the Orion which has the SGX543MP2.

Too freaking easy.
