Qwest just told me that at the latest their fiber optic media will be ready for customers in July (tech on the street told me) I move from 1.5gb bandwith to 7gb for only $5.00 more, great. I called up Qwest and asked if my adsl modem (an ActionTech1000) will need replacement, Qwest responded that they did not know. Perhaps there is a technique I do not know about but if they bring fiber optic to my front door (really my computer room) I don't see how it can physically connect into the my current modem. I ask what connector (physical type) do you think Qwest is going to present to me? If it is RJ45 I don't see how this will plug into my modem.
