Yes thats exactly it. There using texture streaming to reduce the video memory load impact the game has on the consoles. It pretty much allows them to use higher resolution textures with probably around half of the normal memory impact.

Everyone raves about DICE being PC first, console after, but I still haven't truly forgiven them for the bugginess that was BFBC2. And the junk that was MoH. And for all of you with short memories and forgiving hearts, you are clearly ignoring various issues that DICE have had with their games.

So while everyone raves on to preorder, I'm going to wait and see how the online community reacts to it. Either that, or I'll wait until the price of the game plummets.

Yes I'd imagine it would be easier to scale something down then it would to scale something up.

I am pretty sure streaming just means that instead of loading a complete scene, and rendering it, it will be "constantly" loading and un-loading data as it's needed. Like only textures within the FOV would be present in VRAM, with some type of algorithm to "guess" which data to load next. Just a guess, to be honest I didn't read the article.

What's aim assist?

I haven't played too many shooters on consoles, but are you telling me they have something that autosnaps to targets?
