[CVG]EA: Mirror's Edge 2 must grow franchise audience - Page 4

The problem is that they care about the money. Selling should be the last thing on their mind if they actually want to make good money. Make a good game first and then let that bring your revenue in...

I know I'd find fun to run through crowded areas with the police after me, jumping over stuff and whatnot.
Could be interesting. just thios fact of feeling free could maker an awesome sandbox game. Jump from roof to roof, find some stuff, etc.

There could be some items that you could find and equip before mission (one of those anti-runner kit that could help you take more hits but would slow you down and force you to find alternative paths, shoes the makes you accelerate faster but makes you turn slower because of the grip, etc).

How about *NO! =P

I love ME how it was.. and I want to see it continue

several relatively easy things they could do to a sequel and instant hit

1. Add in a level editor. If players could create and share their own custom running grounds the game would have nearly infinite replay

2. Have some sort of true multiplayer modes - not just racing your buddies' best times. This game would be brilliant for a stereotypical "capture the flag" where you could even have classes where you'd have runners that would be most ideal for capturing the "flag" (or briefcase or whatever) but there could be other classes such as SWAT or riot police and mobility would scale with armament - ie the more heat a class packs, the less mobile and more restricted to the levels they are. Again, multiplayer would address that key replay issue Mirrors Edge doesn't shine too well with.

3. For the single player, make the levels less linear, it would be a lot of work, but a much larger more open sandbox type world could be amazing for this kind of a game where you'd have your hideout on one of the roofs and you can then move from building to building on the rooftops performing missions, perhaps even add in tools specifically to help with this such as grapples and parachutes etc.

Some simple ways to make this a good sequel in my opinion:

Make a strong singleplayer, like the first game. Make it very similar, base it on the first game but add a few things. Don't change the core gameplay or else you'll have loads of raging fans. Make it at least 1.5 times as long and add some more drama/suspense. Also, find a way to drastically improve the fighting scenes.

Add a co-op or real-time running versus mode.

Add DirectX 11 and tessellation for the PC version to keep us PC Gamers happy.

More like put on hold. BF3 became the main focus for the studio while they figure out how to bring back ME in a big way.

Couldn't agree more. This sort of game could do with a open area. It would be great to explore the city a little and have more story told through exploration.

I never liked the fact that you almost never saw any people, except from a distance. I know their budget was limited, but in some ways i think they went overboard with the clean Utopian environment to the point where it was too clean and empty.

As long as they don't make it a third person Mirror's Creed (That would piss me off more than it would annoy Ubisoft).
