This was almost painful to read. The whole point is that they're TECH that mimic the SIZE and SHAPE of RBC's. They're not real RBC's or attempting to do the functions of RBC's (though, in time, they'll be able to if that's the task we set them to).
Because they mimic the size and shape of RBC's, they will be accepted more readily by the body, and stay in circulation long enough to deliver medications and do other nifty things....Yes, like cure cancer, or attack HIV.Edited by damian5000 - 3/3/11 at 7:58am
