I'm not the one this was directed at, but just my two cents.

The one improvement I'm looking for in games is natural, free-flowing hair movements with the characters movement. Give me that game.

My real point is that if we just call it quits and say 'eh, thats good enough', nothing is ever going to progress past that point. Over the last 10 years there have been never-ending rehashes and tons of blatant generic games. It's a developer like Dice that needs to be given attention, rewarding them for their outstanding innovation.

Not sure why I got started on this, I'm not buying it anyhow, but the shrewd arrogance and ignorance from Activision is astounding.
exactly.

DICE isnt saying good enough. Every game they release is them saying we can do better. That doesnt happen with the COD series.

Even if its just the sound effects they can improve on, then they should do it. If you want to call your series a AAA series, then start acting like it.

Lol, we'll see how counter-productive it is when COD fans finally realize they've been playing the same game for 5 years. Activision/IW are trying to pull off what Valve pulled off with Source; only in a much more lazy fashion. Valve actually has quality to back up its ridiculous reuse of the Source engine. It was updated with HDR, shadows, etc. and was used to create COMPLETELY different games. HL2, CSS, DODS, TF2, Portal, L4D.

Just because you dont understand what Im trying to say doesnt mean it doesnt make any sense.

Ill break it down the best I can.

COD players dont know what good gameplay is, so all they care about is the game being pretty. So that is what the developers deliver, the same cra game, over and over, slightly prettier each time.

Those of us arguing that Source is a superior engine are being met with arguments about how much "prettier" COD is than soucre games (such as CSS). I dont disagree, but its compete besides the point.

The point is that the problem with COD is the way that it plays, which is why many of us feel that the Source engine is better, even if it is showing its age.

Im not the one getting butthurt here, Im just trying to argue my point. Just because someone disagrees with you doesnt mean their raging

Wow. That's the most generalizing statement I've ever heard. You just can't categorize people like that.

Have you actually played older COD games? (COD 1, 2 and 4)? They were not bad. They were all very good IMO. They had good gameplay, but they look like crap compared to something like BC2, which of course isn't a fair comparison but I'm using it to argue my point.

BO still looks like COD4, which looks like crap. If COD players cared about graphics, they'd move on to other games. Not COD. COD players are there for the gameplay, not graphics. I myself still play COD4 although I dislike MW2 and BO, but I don't think they are horrible either, just too much port in my taste.

The gameplay is what COD players are looking for. Games like BC2 look far superior and cost less. By your argument, COD players would just buy BC2 and play it. They don't. COD players seek the arcade type of gameplay that COD offers. Similiar to CSS, but with more casual gameplay and more options. Nothing wrong with that. I prefer arcade FPS games too. That's why I don't play only BC2 24/7

Next time, don't go around generalizing. That is just like saying that every WoW player is a 30 year old virgin man living in his mothers basement. It doesn't work like that with most people.

EDIT: Oh, and I prefer the game engine mechanics over the source engine. The source engine feels like you're just floating through the air when walking, recoil feels like crap, and such.

The Source engine is constantly in production. While it's still the 'Source Engine', the engine they used in Half Life: Source, is not the same engine they used in Half Life 2. The engine was probably slightly different for Episode 1. Same goes for Episode 2, and will the case for Episode 3.

If Infinity Ward used an engine that they constantly developed, it might not be so bad. Unlikely though.

LOL, also funny in that quote: he is secretly saying that they're NOT taking their time with COD to get it right. Dice worked on Frostbite for 3 years. That's not a ridiculous length of time and it is going to (already has with BC2) give a huge payout when BF3 comes out. Once the engine is complete, the development of the games don't take so long; maybe a year or two.

I can confirm this is true. The difference between L4D and CSS and HL2 is substantial.
