When will the new line of Androids come to Verizon?

Looking to get some new phone(s) soon and I thought I read somewhere that Verizon would be releasing the new androids/smartphones this spring? Anyone have more info on that? Dual cores or something? New Droids? I just don't want to get a Droid now and in a month be kicking myself for having an outdated device.

Thunderbolt is coming pretty soon, I would suspect within this month. The others I don't know. I heard the Bonic was due in June, others say April.

Thanks! just did some reading on the droid forums about the TB vs Bionic. Interesting stuff. I'm really wanting to upgrade ASAP. So I'm stuck in between waiting on the dualcore and getting something released now. Always between a rock a and hard place, lol.

I like the idea and e-peen of a dual core device (let's just be honest here). I like that it is somewhat future ready with OS updates to utilize the dualcore; this gives me a longer run with the phone and it's upgrades because I rarely get new phones. I don't like that the dualcore isn't going to be utilized as much as it can be with the current OS though. So in that regard, I like the snapdragon choices. The DroidX2 seems nice. I suppose I'm more of a Motorola guy than an HTC guy. But I really need to sit down with some friends moto and htc's to see how I like each one.

Anymore OCn'ers with opinions to share? Thanks for the links so far and thoughts. +rep!

You'll change your mind when you try a Motorola phone vs. an HTC phone.

Honestly do not know many people that are a fan of Moto Blur. They like the hardware on Moto's, but not the software in them.

HTC people love their phones for everything it comes with. Hardware and software. You should really try both though and see for yourself.

I think the idea of dual core to future proof is a great idea as well. I think the Thunderbolt only has a single ghz processor, but with 4G.

Keep in mind you have to pay more than 30 for the 4G data plan. 3G data is 30.

The Bionic seems interesting, but I would root it and install a rom as soon as possible.

Maybe HTC will come out with a dual core phone soon. Not sure you want to wait for whenever that'll be released! lol.

I see this "blur" mentioned a lot. In my understanding it's the UI for the OS, correct? If it's what I'm thinking, I'm not so much worried about it because I don't have an issue rooting my phone. I'm a chronic tinker'er so I know I'll end up rooting it. Stock programs don't matter to me so much as hardware does. Which goes back to what you were saying about moto=hardware. Overall I think I'd rather have a strong hardware platform that I can tweak rather than a great out-of-the-box deal. I figure I'd end up tweaking whatever phone I get, might as well get better hardware.

Yes. Single core from what I've seen.

I don't know how much 4G is going to effect me. I've never had a smartphone before. I've only played with friends droid's/smartphones some to check FB and stuff but the 3G seems fast enough here where I am. I'm not sure if I need 4G, and I'm not sure how pleased I'd be with 3G. Though for more than $30 I think I'll stick with the 3G for now anyway. But this is certainly something to keep in mind when I test drive some of my friends' phones. Thanks!

Yea. I'm really antsy. My line has an upgrade available and I need to check when it expires. I reaaaaaaly want a new phone now but I'm forcing myself to wait. If I got a smartphone now I'd spend the next few months kicking myself. Thanks for the feedback. +

Knowing Motorola the rom support for the Bonic will be terrible, just like the Droid X, and soon the Atrix will follow. HTC Thunderbolt will probably have ton of open things to do with it. Like people porting Gingerbread for the thunderbolt or even Ice-cream sandwich. Motorola lock bootloader has really damaged the company. The hardware and quality are amazing but locked bootloader ruins everything.

Yeah, was going to add this on top of that fact that many roms that are made for phones actually keep the main rom and just modify it slightly.

For instance, there are many HTC Sense roms available for my Incredible.

HTC Sense is the rom that comes with my phone like Moto Blur is to Motorola Smartphones.

Of course there are other roms that have nothing to do with the stock roms, like Cyanogen mods or MIUI.
