nVidia HD audio drivers (worth installing?)

I just formatted my Windows 7 Pro x64 partition and I am currently in the process of installing drivers. I use my ASUS P5Q PRO on-board sound card and have downloaded the appropriate drivers from ASUS.

In a effort to keep my fresh install free of redundant drivers what purpose do the nVidia HD audio drivers serve? I want to use whatever offers the best sound quality and performance.

Are both nVidia and ASUS drivers really necessary?

I also do not own a 3D monitor or have any plans to get one. Is it fine if I opt out of the nVidia 3D drivers as well? My current plans are to install ASUS Realtek audio drivers, nVidia video drivers, and opting out of both nVidia HD audio and 3D drivers.

nvidia 3D drivers are the video drivers (has nothing to do with 3D pop off the screen gaming, and everythign to do with 3D gaming vs. 2D gaming [2D being something such as mario, a side scroller]), and the nvidia audio drivers are for the HDMI - since HDMI also transmits audio over the cable, it needs a driver for that. If you don't plan on using that feature, then no need to install the driver for it

+rep, thanks for explaining what the various drivers are. I'll go ahead and rerun the installer.
