I can't enable my SLI in my control panel

Thread Starter
I have 2 GTX 460s, and when i bought them back in august of 2010, they had SLI and everything was working perfectly. Now i go into the control panel and I do not see the SLI option there anymore. IN device manager, both cards show and in the PhysX section of the control panel, I can use either one of the two GTX 460's which I would assume means the computer detects the two cards.

I took out the 2nd card, rebooted and then shutdown, put the 2nd card back in and started it up and it didnt work. I also tried uninstalling the drivers, and then reinstalling the drivers (the newest ones from nvidia, the newest one from msi, and the one that came on the CD) with no avail

After some google searching, I saw that the realtek drivers might've caused problems, so i did an update on all the realtek drivers(LAN and sound), with the newest drivers and I also tried the drivers on the CD that came with my motherboard. If anyone has any ideas please help! I really want to play crysis 2 and on one gpu its quite frail.

Thanks in advance, here are some screenshots of the settings:

Should do SLi. Now just need to figure out what's wrong.

Do you know what bios is on your motherboard?

The bios...I haven't got a clue, but i gather that it isn;t relevant, since it's previously worked. regardless, the bios is the one that came preinstalled with the motherboard since i don't really like to tinker with the bios since i dont know what im doing

It can be it. I had to do a bios update to get the 400 series cards to work on my motherboard. But since they've worked before you seemed to be good.

I'd recommend to just download the latest nvidia drivers. Then unistall the ones you have. Restart, run driver sweep to delete any left over nvidia files. Restart again, then install the latest driver.

See what that does.

Another thing is windows can just go dumb. Some times it takes a few restarts for a driver to work or hardware to be pickuped properly.

for starters the SLI hacks works great with the latest drivers (running them myself)

OP you seem to be running the SLI patch from what i can gather...

since on the Specs for the motherboard says that it doesn't support SLI

Try updating the SLI Patch to version 1.0

and see how you go..

it should work in all theory

Actually, my motherboard does support sli, the one that does not is the P55-G55, note the missing A and the missing D. I have a p55A-GD55 which supports SLI and Xfire, albeit its at 8x speed due to chipset limitations. So does anyone else have any ideas to help a poor soul like me play crysis2 ?
