New Gaming Rig In The Works - Page 2

generally if the h70/60/50 leaks and harms any of your hardware (extremely rare) corsair will replace the hardware... i've only seen a few isolated cases of the Hydro series coolers leaking out of the thousands that have been sold

Welcome Alpha! you are literally down the road from me (Johns Creek)

Looks like a solid build, wait for the Corsair H60, I would recommend the G Skill ripjaw 3x4gb kit as the Corsair Dominators are a LOT more expensive and you can reach the same overclocks (yes I've tried both)

If you are looking for a modular psu, mine is actually up for sale since I'm moving up to a 1200 watt unit =D

btw, our local Duluth Microcenter and Fry's will pricematch newegg.com (just have to pay tax) I'm assuming you picked up the MC i950 deal

also noticed that you waiting until May, you might as well go w/ a Sandy Bridge build =D

It's possible that it'll still be around. MC has had that deal on the 950 for quite a while. However, if you're waiting until May to purchase the parts, I'd recommend going with Sandy Bridge, maybe the i5 2500k.

really digging the build, a few questions though.
are you overclocking? even if you are i wouldn't go and buy out a 1000 watt psu, i would recommend 750 maybe 850 watts if you do a crossfire setup.
i also would highly recommend waiting for sandy bridge that will be rel-released in around april, they can clock better and with the amount you are spending already i would really suggest you looking in the sandy bridge i7 2600k you really do get crazy performance

I was just about to recommend the same thing. Sandy bridge cpus outperform last gen i7s by a significant margin and they would be right around the same price range. By may there should be a ton of 1155 mobos out, although they are in short supply right now because of a recall. Sandy bridge is awesome.
