[IGN] What's Up With Crysis 2's PC Visuals?

Offered in the graphic menu tab are options for resolution, fullscreen, v-sync and system spec. The system spec option can be toggled between gamer, advanced and hardcore settings. So the question is, will these more limited options be present in the final version of the game?

Regarding DirectX 11 support, which would allow for more advanced graphical effects, Camarillo said, "Crysis 2 will support DirectX 11 but we'll talk more about that in the future. There's an announcement coming soon about that."

eww, Vsync. Instead of creating a bigger market for lcd monitors with higher refresh rates they chose to decrease fps to satisfy the refresh rate.

"We'll look at whether that's a possibility," said Nathan Camarillo, executive producer at Crytek. Right now Crytek is monitoring fan feedback and will determine later what might be able to change.
What a dumb thing to say...The game is 18 days from the release date and you are locking graphical controls and still looking into it?
Almost a pointless article.

They just stated the obvious about the graphic options.

That doesn't sound good.

It's bringing more pressure onto Crytek and drawing more attention to the issue, which works in my book.

And yes, that quote made me think that perhaps the rumor of Crysis 2 not shipping with DX11 support is true...

Exactly what i was thinking. No dx11 on launch seems more and more believable now.

No dx11 = lazy dev

lazy dev = no $60 from me

Do the math crytek, you're about to lose a lot of customers from the hardcore pc gamer market. The fact that I was planning on a GPU upgrade for this game almost seems sad now

I'm actually surprised by this. Why not just say it will support it, instead of "It will, buuuut..."
