If you want to just grab a new harddrive if you don't mind buying a new one.

If not then I can post you the program thats free that checks it.

Also why not try and do a scan on your harddrive and if it stops you know its the problem, I tried that on my girls and it stoped I was like **** knew it was the harddrive before I even did a HD check.

Then I tried ot defrag, well lol it was a pita, but finally did finish it all had to try so many times.

Once I scaned the harddrive with the program to see if i got any bad sectors well yep I think she had over 100+ bad sectors on that drive consiting of major to low end ones.

Sorry to tell you man its your harddrive.

I was upstairs watching a show and told her why not get off that **** laptop till its fixed and go play on my system down stairs and see the diff, well it was so muc hbetter she said lol.

Yea I just can't handle her laptop when im lazy and want ot scan something upstairs instead of booting up my main system and checking something online, but its just horid
Hmm I just ran CHKDSK on my main partition for OS (100 GB)..

0 KB in bad sectors.

I'll post other results nxt tym xD I got several partitions xD

im sorry but i dont believe a bad hdd would cause stuttering videos in a browser.
youtube videos would stutter for lack of bandwidth and overloaded processor. unless of course it's 1 of those crap ass videos that stops n stutters for everyone.
my opinion is the same as a few others. the use of the cpu is going to 100% and its being overloaded with info and cant process it all.
pretty sure you swap out the old 9950 and the problem will be solved.

Try using HD Tune (free version) and just run the error scan with 'Quick Scan' unchecked. It will tell you within about 10 minutes whether or not your HDD is having problems, you can also check the 'Health' and 'Info' tabs for detailed information.

Much more information that just relying on Chkdsk.

A bad HDD can cause a lot of issues, including stuttering, lengthy delays in reads, and other issues.

IDK about lack of bandwith, but even when a youtube vid is fullly loaded, it would stutter frequently.

Right now, with Hardware Acceleration, the smooth time before stuttering is longer than before. Still the problem is there, sadly.

Also, I'd have to get another 9950 BE.. What about a Phenom 2 955? It's hella cheaper than the 9950 BE that seems to be discontinued entirely xD

What do you think? xD

+ rep btw

Oh okay. Will try that later. + rep.

This is so confusing xD

Oh guys BTW...

Do you think it's safe for me to turn off AMD Cool'n'Quiet?

I have a theory that it might be causing a fluctuation for the CPU speed and voltages.. would it be safe?

Also, in BIOS, is it safe for me to [Enable] the PCI_EX1 Gen 2 High Speed Mode since it's [Disabled]?

Video stuttering happens when I'm folding and the app that displays the video uses hardware acceleration. See if you get the same stuttering in mpc. If you get stuttering in mpc, load the same movie in windows media player. WMP doesn't use hardware acceleration and doesn't give stuttering when I'm folding.

Not sure what could be the cause tough. I suggest you install the latest gpu driver.

Media Player Classic - it's a good video player.

If you want to get a 955 and it'll work in your board, by all means go for it. It's definitely going to be a better processor anyways and still has some life in it.

You can take disable C&Q if you like, up to you. It downclocks/lowers voltage when your system is idle/low load, brings it back to normal when under full/medium/heavy loads. Most people who OC disable this feature, whereas some leave it on after they find a final OC.

About the PCI setting, shouldn't matter. As long as your video card is running at x16 or x8 you're fine; and I think that PCI setting is referring to your 1x slot (if you have one).

OK I'll try later. I tried DivX Player a few minutes ago, no stutter.

Also, It says PCI_EX so that's not PCI right?

Do you think it's dangerous if I put it on [Auto] instead of [Disabled]?
