Before, my temps would go to high 70s C.. now the highest it got was just 41 degrees C!

The stuttering was greatly reduced in video games but still present.

Hmmm..
Well done!

Now you should try the folowing:

-Set the ram at 800 Mhz and set the tRFC timing to 127us in all 4 fields that show up in the memory settings(enable manual control ).If you enable manual control for both channels you need to set up twice(for both channels) those 4 tRFC fileds to 127.

-Try and use the hard drive at SATA 1 by using a jumper on the drive (in case it alowes you)You wont feel speed decrease ,but it may run smoother.

-If Memtest doesn t show any error proceed to BIOS update.
As you are using an older Phenom i would recommend you BIOS 1.7 or 1.8 instead of the latest (1.B) ,which may be optimzed for Phenom 2.
Use this thread to update ,you will need to make an account on msi forum to download the tool -> http://www.overclock.net/amd-bios/58...lash-tool.html

-Last things to do would be to replace the CPU with a Phenom 2.Sell your Phenom.
You should be able to boot with a C2 Phenom 2 even with older BIOS versions (my 550BE worked with older bios version just fine and alowed me to update) .Then you will be able to update BIOS.

Good luck!

LE: I hope you are having a case with a fan to the back of the case that sucks air over the circu-pipe to keep it cool.
Make sure the circu-pipe is well seated as this Platinums have that strange clearence issue for the video card first PCI-E slot ,circu-pipe having a pipe upper than it should.
In case you forced the video card a little then maybe that pipe disturbed the heatsink placement. In case you ve adjusted/bent that pipe by yourself recheck the seating.

Thanks so much for the continued support! Will do them sometime soon.

Even if my temps are down, the stuttering seems to still be here xD

I'll try the jumper thingy on the HDD but have really no idea about it. Any tips?

Where do I put it? I seem to have a jumper that "bites" onto two pins here at home.

By "stuttering reduced", do you mean you still getting FPS drops WITHOUT HDD thrashing(reading hdd intensively) ? If HDD is thrashing and game pauses for a moment then continues, that's normal because it's loading new areas, I have that behavior as well.

Or is it actually micro-stutters ? Which you can notice when you get past walls or items that you can see it like frame skips, not actually skips but it's like fps is disrupted.

Do you happen to be using MSI Afterburners custom fan profile? If so, try disabling it.

I have the same problem as you do.
My 5870 seems to hate my Sony Bravia, but loves my cheap Hannspree monitor. lol

Uninstall all drivers using Drive-sweeper and install 10.10 drivers or try out the newer ones like 11.2.

Hmm.. It's hard for me to explain but I think you might understand me.

I'll try:

You know "panning" right? For example: Assassin's Creed "survey mode" (reach a high bldg. where eagles stay and fly about, press "E" and the camera "pans")..

It's supposed to "pan" smoothly, but it seems to "stutter". Like a missing frame.

I think it can even be called "micro stutter" since it's so minute but so frequent!.

Another example:

When playing most games, look at the floor, keep running.

Even though the framerate is high and "stable", I get stutters. As if there was a missing frame out of the 60FPS.

This also happens when watching browser videos but I cannot find it in movies or videos played by VLC, GOM, etc but that is likely because they're usually just 24-30FPS so "stuttering" is almost negligible.

I hope you kinda understand xD

You can get sttuter from an antivirus as wel ,if you did not excluded games folder from real time scaning.
I observed stuter on my machine under Windows 7, when playing and keeping on Windows Defender. This did not happen with other antiviruses.
So you may need a clean OS installation with only but drivers installed and the games to test with.

UPDATE:

Some kinda miracle happened!

My Game frame rates are at least up to 35%! No JOKE no exaggeration!

Crysis 2: I would often play it max settings dipping to 20 FPS.. now, the lowest was 35 FPS!

Dragon Age 2: Everything maxed out DX 11, previous: 18 FPS.. now: 28 FPS!

***! I don't get what happened? It's been more than a year and suddenly it got "fixed"?

I swear! I didn't do anything to tweak my system..

What is this? There's almost no stuttering as well.
