I'm trying to pick out a CMS. It seems that wordpress, joomla, and drupal are the most popular. Which one do you guys think is best?

Joomla for sure. I personally hate WP.

Wordpress is probably the easiest to get started with, but Joomla is also pretty user friendly. Drupal is geared toward more advanced users, so it can take a little more effort at first, but it also gives you more flexibility if you need it.

If you're new to content management systems, I'd probably go with wordpress or joomla. They both have a lot of plugins and themes available, but I think wordpress has the most and is the most popular overall.

There's a CMS demo at http://php.opensourcecms.com/ that will let you test out all of the popular ones, so you can see which one you like best before going through the hassle of installing them.

SyrianGasolHatesApple, just curious, but what did you not like about wordpress?

Alright.. thanks for the info and the CMS demo site. I'll check it out.

That demo site is really good. Saved me a lot of hassle of having to manually install each of them. I ended up going with wordpress due to its huge community of users. Should make it easier to troubleshoot any problems.

Yeah, the demo site makes it a lot easier to compare CMSes, but I think it's only for php based systems.

I had to test drive umbraco 2 years ago, and that was a pain in the ass to get setup. They have demo sites for it now, but they didn't 2 years ago.
