There is no visible difference between dx 10 and dx11 for bad company 2.Neither is there a very big difference between 9 and 10.But the shadows for sure are a lot smoother from dx9 to 10 and upwards. And Anti aliasing of course because bc2 is made with dx10 in mind.AA and shadows suffer in dx9.But there is absolutely no difference in texture quality.I play this game extensively on the PC.

If crysis 2 has not used high res textures, dx11 wont do any bit of good to it.It seems consoles cant handle very high resolutions so many console ports are limited by resolution.

Dx11 is not a big leap in API from dx9.Unless something huge comes from Microsoft as far as direct x is concerned expect to be stuck in a 2007 world when crysis set the benchmark.I dont think games are gonna look much better than bad company 2 .Crysis 2 looks as good as any game out there today. If you loved the jungles in crysis 1,you will be amazed at bad company 2 foliage .

Only good thing i keep hearing about is better fps for larger textures ,but i dont know how that works in real gaming scenarios.Have you folks noticed speed increases?

Battlefield 3 though does look amazing.Probably due to superb lighting and ultra high resolutions for the PC.

DX10 is a big leap from DX9. A lot of compatibility stuff that had been holding performance back was thrown out of the window.
DX11 brings major changes, such as: DirectCompute (great for computations, and no need to resort to OpenCL or PhysX for in-game physics), tessellation (improves polygonal model quality, can also improve performance if used wisely) and better support for multi-threading (which a lot of games severely lack).
The problem is, most of the games are written using DX9 with DX10 and 11 added band-aid style. So we don't really see all the benefits yet. It's one of the reasons why BF3 looks quite promising.

Yeah true I think DX9 to 10 is a big leap but from 10 to 11 not that much. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

This is utter crap.

My 9800 GX2 gets 38 FPS AVG in Hardcore @ 1080p.

GTX 570 getting more than 10 FPS more than GTX 480?

Wow, you can't even trust benchmarks for games that have BEEN released..

Depends on your definition of "big". I think both are quite significant.
DX10 is mostly a "base clean up" (some things and implementations are obviously new or different, though, such as Unified Shader approach); DX11 brings new features to the table.

I though i was getting good FPS but more i play i see that the results are getting closer to the Chart. I got 52 avg and 32 min with just 4 mins of game-play. If i tried to play with more explosions, more gunfire it would have gone down.

Looks like I will probably only be able to play at Hardcore settings with DirectX 9 with my current sig rig (and I don't really plan to update it any time soon either)... So I guess I am stuck
