[Games on Net] Crytek Thanks PC Community for Support Over Crysis 2 Leak - Page 6

I refuse to buy this game at launch; I'll grab it when it's $5. It's all Crytek deserves for their awesome work.

Lets hope that the D-Day patch fixes a lot of these issues. Seriously while most of these problems annoy me too there is a possibility for a good number of them to be fixed.

"Press [Start] to Continue" - 5 minute fix.
"Auto Aim enabled at start" - 5 minute fix.
"Brightness text - "... Please adjust television settings..."" - 5 minute fix.

If these are at a minimum not fixed then **** CryTek; Slap in the damn face.

If by support they mean releasing console ports that just run on PC with none of the features that make a PC title a good game. Then sure, they will keep supporting PC! I mean, aren't they supporting PC right now?

So we've got a bunch of pissed off PC gamers cancelling pre-orders and now we have a PS3 version that runs and looks like ****.

GJ Crytek I'ld say, looks like going multiplat and focusing on consoles is really working out for you.

The verdict? Not so great, unfortunately. The performance of the PS3 version is pretty underwhelming. The framerate is frequently low and choppy. There are jagged lines everywhere, and shadows are especially messy. There's a muddiness to the graphics that's hard to stomach in the wake of the PS3's other flagship showpieces, and worse, the variable framerate really hurts controller response.
PC demo impressions;

Actually Dx9 dates back much further to 2002, grasshopper.

I guarantee you that they take no opinions stated on OCN worth anything because no matter what we have people like you who just want to whine.

If the game came out, had the best graphics ever, lots of PC support, a 50 hour story mode, etc. You would complain because it was $50 at launch and they should sell it for cheaper on PC ($5 perhaps?)...
Holy crap, this. Stop crying about the game if you don't want to buy it. Some of us are waiting for the finished product before we start whining like giant manchildren

Yea...because in the less than 3 weeks between now and game launch they have loads of time to completely rewrite and re-bug-test a multi-gigabyte DVD ISO. There's a reason why Firefox takes forever to release final code you know....and they are only having to code a dozens of megabyte web browser.

It isn't a port, cryengine 2 was built to run on consoles and PC. My thoughts on the matter is Crytek saw that we were all complaining about lack of demo for PC so they very quickly pulled this together (with out any PC features mind you) so we would stop complaining and see what the multiplayer would be all about. I still have hope for this game, although I don't have a pre order for it (I never pre order games, I can wait a week after it releases). No one can really say how the game will be until it is released, I'll wait until then to judge.

Then you only have to wait 3 weeks before QQing is justified then right?

All you guys saying this is some sort of damage control need a reality check.

The beta was leaked Feb 14.

Crytek was talking about how they were optimizing for PC on Feb 9.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/02/09/cr...ats-a-pc-game/

There are other articles that came out before this interview from other sources that talked about how the piracy numbers, as calculated by torrentfreak, were low.

It's not some conspiracy he's just being honest. The demo, not being finished (i.e. DX9) and having "start" and few options is a separate thing. It's already established it's a DX11 game, which means the demo is more of a gameplay demo than a graphical demo; so relax.
