Boomslang 2007 uses an Avago ADNS-S3668 .
Deathadder 3G uses the Same Avago ADNS-S3668.
Deathadder 3.5G uses an Avago ADNS-38888, which is an updated ADNS-3668.
CM Spawn uses an Avago-ADNS-3090 which is basically a rebranded/updated S3888 with an extra 5G acceleration.

You're looking at max tracking rates on various pads hard and soft at over or around 4 meters a second.

Deathadder + Goliathus Control = Perfect combination (I'm using that)
Razer drivers are good, they release firmware updates if they need to, and if you don't like the drivers, there's no need for them, mouse works fine without.

I've owned mx518, g5, g500, g9, intellimouse 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 (just don't take the 2.0 never) a4tech x750bf and the best thing I used so far is the DeathAdder 3.5G.
As for mousepads I got quite a few aswell, Goliathus Control, Goliathus Speed, Destructor, Func1030, QcK+, SpeePad, Roccat Sense, the best for me and the deathadder was the goliathus speed.

Oh there are many nice mice in that price range that you could look into.
I would avoid the Scorpion as I've never heard of it and it looks a bit on the cheap side.
The Razer would be a better mouse I suppose.

4 of my neighbors own Razer mice, all 4 of them have had either their mice fall to pieces or they just died out of nowhere.

On the other hand my Logitech G5 is still running perfect after 6 years of constant use, gaming, and 5 different users. I've never owned a Razer mouse but I do own a Razer Lycosa [unfortunately] and it feels cheaper than my Saitek Eclipse II I bought for $20 half a decade ago... Hell my Teflon feet are still holding out on this mouse!

I would suggest Steelseries or Logitech mice over Razer due to build quality.
