Hi,
I'm about to sell my GTX 275s and I will order a gtx 570 tonight. I'm going to have a second one and SLI them later.

I say go for GTX 570s and buy waterblocks and WC them with the cash you saved from gtx 580 then OVERCLOCK HELL OUTTA THEM!

Good luck on your purchases

EDIT: Oh 2560x1600 resolution, I thought you would go 1920x1200. Then I would go 2x GTX580 way. Sorry I missed the last post you wrote.

I'll rephrase my question:

Considered I want to game at 2560x1600, will 2x 570 SLI suffice to cap it and raise all details and stuff to maximum or will I need a 2x 580 SLI to do that? Note that due to cramped space inside my case going SLI means I will be unable to mount a custom cooler so I can only get something factory overclocked.

3GB version isn't readily available in my area, I wonder if 2x GF GTX580 COLORFUL 1536MB would do the trick? Also, I take it that with 2x570 I won't be able to max everything at 2560x1600?

For the most part... You would. Id show you a benchmark but I think you already know them. 570s will destroy games, maybe at a sacrifice of AA. with 580sli you can destroy any game besides metro2033 with DOFon. With it off I'm sure you would get respectable frame rates. 580sli also allows for utilization of 2-4AA on heavy games such as Crysis to 16xQSAA -32AA or 8xMSAA on all other games. 580sli is also perfect for multiple screens.

So you guys think 2x580 would be worth it (and it would justify the additional 200€) instead of 2x570, granted I am on a single 30" monitor running games at 2560x1600?
