Cant hear out of both sides of headset. (Sennheiser 350) (Xonar Essence STX)

Thread Starter
I just installed my new Xonar Essence STX and used the 3.5mm-to-6.3mm adapter on the headphone out port so that I could plug in the Headphone part of my Sennheiser 350 I need to get another adapter for the mic part.

Anyways I went to the Xonar Audio Center program for windows 7 the specs are at:

-DSP Mode
none

-EQ Mode
Disable

-Output Device
PCM
Headphone <--- I have this selected

Menu
-Audio Channel
(2 Channels)

-Sample Rate
(PCM 96 KHz)

-Analog Out
(Headphone)

-SPDIF out
(No check mark in box) PCM
(No check mark in box) 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter
(No check mark in box) Dolby Headphone

When I go to Speaker Test and click play it says Left Front and I hear it on the left side of the headset then says Right Front but still hear it on the left side.

I try and play some music which sounds much better but I can still only hear it on the left side of my headset.

This is my first sound card I do not know what to do and would love to get this working on both sides of my headset.

Is your 6.5mm to 3.5mm definitely stereo and not mono?

This is stereo;

mini_phono_jack.gif

and this is mono

The stereo has 2 black bands and the mono only has one, if you have a mono adapter then you need to get a stereo one.

WOW I was messing around to see in I had the part from my headset plugged all the way into it and it wasent I had to give it a really good push for it to go in all the way.

When I go buy another adapter for the mic part should I buy another stereo one?

What what should I put my settings at so max out my gaming experience and music sound?

Do both channels work on the cans? Did you plug the thing in all the way?

Take a look at the jack for your microphone and just get the same as that, it's probably mono.
