Persuade me to SFF? - Page 3

Another benefit to mATX, is that the intake fans' airflow actually reaches components xD

I remember my HAF912 caused my GPU temps to go up because the fan couldn't reach it. But now that I'm back with SFF my temps went down. I can game with my GPU fan on low and rely on my intakes for cooling.

As long as you have sufficient exhaust your parts should drop in temp.

I also enjoy SFF because I don't have a ton of desk space. My desk is elevated so I need a case that's completely on with it's case feet (so far only the Elite 341 and NZXT Vulcan) or completely off (Tempest EVO & Antec 900. Other Antecs possible) so it's sturdy and won't fall off. And since most of those cases that "hang off" are very heavy, I just don't have confidence that my desk would hold up well.

It's easier to move around too when upgrades come, or I just need to move it. Cable management is A PAIN IN THE ---, but if you do a good job you won't have any problems later on. Very much worth it when it's finished.

I also enjoy SFF because it's perfect for me. I don't need huge elaborate cases, I don't need SLI/Crossfire, nor water cooling set ups. It offers me the ability for a few HDDs if needed, a fan controller, a card reader and a ODD. I don't need any more front panel extras than that. Also offers me a video card slot, TV tuner, and sound card capabilities.

I have more pride with my mATX builds than I ever had with my regular case builds, even with SLI or a 4ghz OC'd Xeon X3440 in a Sabertooth 55i. There's just something about cramming a lot of horse power into something small that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

If you want to fit 2 GFX cards, 3 Mech and 1 SSD drive then the Silverstone "Garbagecan" FT03 might be something.

I got mine yesterday and must say looks very sleek. Only con is that you need a slim, slot-load optical drive.

I would go for the Lian Li V354. It will have ample room for what you are trying to do and a slightly smaller footprint (width wise) than the V351 0r V352 "cube" style cases.

I recently did a build in a PC-v352 for my HTPC/gaming setup. Then last week, I did a build in a Silverstone SG06 for the GF's new rig. The quality of the SG06 is not even in the same ballpark as the Lian Li case. I would imagine the Silverstone mATX cases are similar(although I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken).

Sure, Lian Li costs a bit more, but it is definitely worth the price premium, IMO. If the SG06 had been for me I would have been extremely disappointed and sent it back. I originally picked out the A05 picked out for her, but she wanted something cute and tiny, so it went back.
