Hello there. I consider myself to have a fairly moderate knowledge of computing, and have sourced the below build + monitors + keyboard & mouse for a clean $2500.00 AU
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fractal R3 Quiet Case
Aftermarket Heatsink (NOCTUA NH - C14)
Antec 850W Power Supply
AMD 3.3Ghz Hex-Core 1100T
2GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ram x 4 (8GB)
G.Skill Phoenix 120GB SSD
ATI HD 6870 1GB
Gigabyte SB785 Mobo (USB 3, SATA 3)
1TB Samsung F3 Hard Drive + Additional 2TB (3TB total)
Windows 7 64 Bit
TPLINK WN951N 801.11NL - Wireless network card (300mbps)
2 x BENQ 24" Full HD 1080p monitors
Microsoft wireless keyboard & mouse (800 series)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My question is whether you all think this is worth the money OR if you could suggest possible improvements to the build within the limit of $2500.00 AU.
I don't have a great understanding on the difference between AMD processors and Intel processors... so any insight as to whether I should stick with the current sourced AMD processor or whether I should use an Intel processor would be greatly appreciated. I am also aware that the ATI HD 6870 video card only supports 1 HDMI output with a further 2 DVI outputs etc... so it is POSSIBLE for me to run dual monitors if I were to get an adapter etc... but if anyone could suggest a better videocard with similar specifications that will allow me to run dual monitors at full 1080p HD within the $2500.00 limit, I would greatly appreciate it! I hope I can receive some helpful feedback. Thanks!

what are you gonig to be doing with the rig? seems like a pretty solid build. do you really need 2 monitors? intel offer more POWARRRRR but you need more dolla dolla. whereas amd+ati are more bang for buck. good power for the money.

It all depends on what you need it for.. all of that just for gaming? sweet..

No way to be wired? Are you building that rig to game and then connect wirelessly? eek.. doesnt matter how great the wi fi card is if the router you are using is wireless b or g.

Thanks for taking the time to read over my post Sircles. I am basically going to be using it for moderate level gaming, and use of the Adobe Master Collection CS5. Basically the reason for the 8GB's of Ram is so that I can work with between 50 - 100 layers in Photoshop at any given time without a hassle. With my minimal knowledge of the difference between Intel/AMD I was aware Intel was more powerful, but more expensive. Sircles - Would you by any chance be able to give me a comparison of the Intel version of my build? Like how much would I need to spend to get the equivalent of what I have now or better? I would more then likely cut the second monitor which leaves me with another $200.00 (roughly) to potentially upgrade the AMD 3.3Ghz Hex-Core 1100T which I have been told can overclock at 3.7GHz?

@ AMOCO - Thanks!
@ BungalowJunkie - I am basically going to be using it for moderate level gaming, and use of the Adobe Master Collection CS5. Basically the reason for the 8GB's of Ram is so that I can work with between 50 - 100 layers in Photoshop at any given time without a hassle. (As well as general every day-to-day use). There is no way it can be wired as I have minimal space in my room currently, though there is a possibility that I may be able to wire in the coming future. For now - wireless is the only option. For arguments purpose, I have a Billion BiPAC 7300N (upto 300mpbs) which is the wireless router & modem in one. I haven't had any problems with it at all and personally feel it is a prime product for what I use it for.

meh , something like this :
Core i7-950+MSI X58 Pro-E
Antec TP-650+IN WIN Dragon Slayer
PNY XLR8 6GB
EVGA GTX 570
this would be much better for both photoshop and gaming i guess

Hm, I might do some research into the Intel chips...
I heard from a few friends that there MAY be an i9 being released with the capability of 6 cores... no idea if this is true or not. Probably would be worth my while waiting if this were true...
