Hi guys,

theres a deal where i can take in a old crappy monitor and get R800 discount (sweet right??) according to windows 7 gadget thats $115 off which is awesome!

So now here's my problem! which monitor? currently I have my eye on two:

Samsung SyncMaster BX2450

24” Screen Size
250 Nits Brightness
1000:1 Contrast ratio
1920 x 1080 Resolution
2ms Response time
2x HDMI 1x VGA
3 Year warranty

Price: R1700 ($246)

Samsung SyncMaster BX2331

23” Screen Size
250 Nits Brightness
1000:1 Contrast ratio
1920 x 1080 Resolution
2ms Response time
2x HDMI 1x VGA
3 Year warranty

Price: R1200 ($173)

so basically, there exactly the same except the looks and the screen size. (as far as i know, anyone know any other differences?) In other words, Im wondering if the 70$ is worth the extra inch and the better looks? suggestions?

Yes they are the same spec.http://www.all-monitors.com/compares...cmaster_bx2450

I actually have the Samsung SyncMaster BX2331 and its a great monitor. You wont really notice a diffrence in the 1 inch. The picture quality is great. My only complaint is when I have my monitor hooked up via HDMI and the monitor goes asleep I have to turn it off and back on. Somthing to do with my video card I belive. Samsung makes great monitors you wont be dissapointed.

If you have a chance, also look at the Samsung P2450 monitor..

went to a local shop and was going to buy the bx24, when i saw them side by side there was no confusioin, the p2450 looks better, and i found out that led backlighting is totally overrated. apart from power consumption, which i don'T have to worry about here in Iceland.

So as i said, if possible have a look at the P2450
If not, the Bx looks good to

*Added*
I forgot, the p2450 also has a glass over the screen so it's super easy to clean

I would give it a serious look, but the shop offering the discount doesn't have it

Yeah, like i said, if you could.

But you wont go wrong with the BX2450, it looks sharp and i liked it..
Like i said, i was on my way to buy that monitor, but the P next to it just hit me and the easy cleaning feature was a plus for me since i'm used to a CRT

so you would rather go for the bx2450 than the 2331? (above)

Me personally, yes.

Reasons being:
Better looks.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe the 24" has a more stable stand.
Come on, it's an whole extra inch! Imagine if you could get an extra inch "else where" for 70$?

Just my 2c, good luck choosing mate.
