HD 5850 in x-fire, 1 bridge or 2?

Thread Starter
Subject kind of says it... Is there any benefit from running 2 bridges over 1?

I do it because personally I think it looks better. Here is a quote from another website

1 bridge if you are running anything at 1680x1050 or lower, above that 2.

I am currently running 5540x1050 Resolution so I guess I need two.

From what I have read it really doesn't make a difference but ATI recommends using both. For what reason, specifically, I don't know.

A long time ago when I had 4850s in CF, I went to the AMD forums and all the "supposed experts" said only one bridge was needed; unless the manufacturer stated otherwise.

The word "need" is a very wrong in this case. There is really little to no difference either way. Maybe your one of the rare exemptions when it actually would make a difference.

Just use it like you like it.

Would be nice if you could post some before/after benchmarks. Unigine Heaven and whatever game benchmarks you happen to have lying around would be nice. Not that you have to, or anything...
