Intel Core 2 Duo E7500

Thread Starter
I am running a 950W PSU on an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 CPU, stock 2.93GHz on an EVGA NForce 730i MoBo, I overclocked my CPU to 3.36GHz and the Memory from 800MHz to 921MHz, I was wondering if that is a good OC or if i could manage to squeeze more out of it. It is my first time OCing and doing it through the BIOS. I was wondering if it would be possible to push my CPU even more? Its running 32 c Idle and around 50 full load.

Thank You.

yeah, it is a good OC, mainly the RAM, IMO, but you can still push the CPU further.
Can you list your current settings? and load temps?

I'm not sure how to get to the Load Temps.
Just wanna throw this in, but, Whenever it try increasing the voltage and frequencies, my CPU speed begins to drop, it won go past 3.37GHz

get speefan to check on temps form here:
http://www.overclock.net/downloads/138458-speedfan.html

and prime95 to test stability and put some load on your CPU form here:
http://www.overclock.net/downloads/137251-prime95.html

what is your FSB setting and volts applied to the cpu? if you don't have CPU-Z get it from here and do a validation, or a print:

Just to add what matroska already mentioned....would it be better to use Real Temp or Core Temp instead of Speed Fan to monitor temperature? I heard Speed Fan is not as accurate.

This is what i got from CPU-Z
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1689705
It shows my Freq to be Freq : 1842.96 MHz (307.16 * 6)
But when i right click on my computer it comes up as a core 2 duo @ 2.93 GHZ 3.37Ghz
http://img88.imageshack.us/i/pic1s.png/
also in my BIOS it says 307.16*11.....11 being the multiplier and not 6, is this because my system is idle?

Yup, that's correct smile.gif
you may want to disable the power saving features, like C1E, CPU internal thermal control, Speedstep... it can make your system unstable when OC'ed.
Also, if you want to get more FSB, set the RAM to a lower frequency, 667MHz, with its 800MHz spec timings, so the RAM OC don't make your system crash while finding the CPU frequency you want.
