XSPC PUMP/RES 750 - converting to PWM???

Thread Starter
Hi all, I have the XSPC 750lph pump res combo and just wondered if anyone knew if it was possible for me to connect it up to my fan controller, i know the pump only has 2 wires (one blue and one brown i think) so is it possible?

I want to be able to turn it down when not spanking the system.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Depends on what fan controller you have.

Why? They are pretty silent already...
I don't see why you would need to turn it down.

I have a Zalman MFC-02 controller - and i want to turn it down as although quite quiet, I can still hear faint hum, hence why Im asking, im not just doing it because I like tinkering.

I have that pump and I can turn off all my fans and still not hear it, even a "hum"

I think you just want to tinker and I wouldn't suggest it or trust it on a fan controller

Do not try to control a pump with that Zalman controller, it can handle only 0.7 A.

Your right im just a liar, theres no hum at all, i made a thread just to get some attention (no offense there by the way)

But really, there is a hum, its there because I can hear it, however, the answer i was looking for is no, dont hook it up to the controller +rep to mm67

i cant find any exact data on the xspc pump in terms of power draw, but in performance compared to a mcp 355, i would imagine you would need a fan controller that can handle ~25-30 watts per channel minimum. At 12V i would imagine the pump could draw ~2 amps.

BTW mine is silent as well, sure your not dealing with air bubbles ? How long have you been running it?

ya that was as simple as going and looking what the pump needs and then going and looking up what your controller puts out... RESEARCH!!!! (no offense there by the way)

BUT that isn't saying that other controllers will not work for you.... there is a number of high end controllers or just a simple voltage adjuster that will allow you to achieve your goal

XSPC pump only seems to use about 10 W : http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=889&page=6. There are plenty of controller's that can handle it.
