Successful 4.1Ghz OC. now for the ddr3RAM

Thread Starter
Just overclocked to 4.1ghz on i7-950-d0 my validation is coming up with this as my ram.. 525 mhz? I would like to be literate about this and be able to understand my ram.. When i purchased Kingston HyperX I was under the impression it was a triple channel... and that it was 1800 mhz. I havent found 1800 mhz option in my BIOS... And do i just type in the timing straight off the kingston website.. Couple things i have no idea about just wanted to get cleara bout RAM.

Looks like 2 gb is missing and your running at 1050mhz. Go into the bios and change the memory settings.

There you have the memory running as a dual channel kit at 1750Mhz, 9-9-9 24.
Didi you purchase a triple channel kit (3 x 2Gb)or dual channel (2 x 2Gb)?

Actually seems to be running in single channel mode, if OP really has only 2 sticks then those should probably be in some different slots to run in dual channel mode.

edit. Needs to be in A1 and B1 slots.

Ah the a1 and b1 makes since. I put them next to each other because of o a friend that told me it made no difference even though my sabertooth mobo MANUAL says to put them in the 1 slot of both different bays (a1, b1, c1) wrather than my setup (a1, a2). CORRECT?

i purchased 2 2gb sticks. i was under the impression they were triple channel kit.. but I am ignorant when it comes to literacy of RAM. if i have 2 2gb hyperx 1800mhz sticks than what do i have.? and if i over clockthem them. while having my cpu at 4.2 woudl the overclock be above the stated 1800mhz.

for the saber-tooth when u are putting in the ram i think the first slot is empty, then first stick of ram, empty slot, then stick of ram.

hope that makes since.

The saber-tooth MB is known for having a lot of memory issues so don't forget to do your research on that issue also.
