i would drop the ram volts back to 1.8 if works.
if you are having NO problems with instability, i would leave everything but the ram volts alone.
can you run prime95 without a crash? if your hyperthread is still over 2000 and you crash, get it to 2000. you said it was 2800. you need to be at 1200 to get to 2000 not the 16-1800 that was stated earlier.
run prime95 and watch your temps. come back and tell us what happens

I will drop the ram voltage back to stock and see how it handles it, my ht is at 2340 it was stock at 2000. nope it wasnt 2800 that was the northbridge but that was crashing so i turned that down to 2600 and havent had any problems with it yet. it was at 2800 on nb because the only way i can adjust my nb frequency is through the fsb and my previous fsb was at 280. but its all good, well i have the ht at 1800 and it is around the 2350 range so its overclocked a bit and havent had any problems with it yet if i do that will be the first thing i turn down. i will run p95 later as i did run occt overnight without any errors or bsod's and it never got over 54*C with the max cpu temp rated for 74*C so ive got 20C away and my fans are not running that fast only bout half way i plan to up them if doing any intensive things but with it set to 50% it hadnt gotten over 54*C thats not too bad really.

Will go turn down ram voltages and test then tonight run p95 as long as i can, which i estimated to be about 14 or so hours(i never have it on that long let alone doing anything rough on it for that long)

Thanks for the help/feedback /information all of it helps before this i had no clue about the hyper threading/northbridge stuff and was wondering why i couldnt get past like 3.3 when ive seen so many ppl go up to like 3.7-3.8 on this chip.

Win7 has a memory testing feature. i usually access it by booting with the DVD and choose repair. To run memtest you have to boot from memtest's cd and let it run to find errors.
But why do you want to run memtest? are you suspecting that your ram has errors? or am i understanding it wrong?

If you can't set a NB multiplier lower than x10 it will be hard for you to keep increasing FSB and get your system stable, as you already said that at 2800MHz you were having stability issues...

I made a math error back there, 8x200MHz=1800MHz, LOL.
Keeping the HT link close to 2000MHz will assure you much more stability.

I just wanted to test the ram for stability, and my nb is at 2600 now and so far is stable. The ht link on the other hand is at about 2350 is that too high? and what does it do? if it doesn't help performance that greatly i will turn it down.

Edit: i just got a blue screen for the first time when i tried to load a program that was installed on my slave harddrive, it has win xp on it i use for gaming. While primary is for everything else, (win7).

It went to fast but what i believe it was 0x0000000000a or something like that, i know it was ton of 0's and an "A" dont think there is anything else, i cannot find what this code means though....

go ahead and drop your ht down to 1950. it will be fine. test for stability after that.
check your temps and tell us what they are. this should be enough to run stable, maybe

I read that HT link speed over 2000 can hurt performance in some cases, if i can find the article again i'll post it here.

Google says that 0xa is known for driver issues or ram errors. i'll try to know more about it

If you want pics i can do so but right now this is what everything is at:

Core Speed: 3510mhz
HT Link : 2080mhz (dropped down from 1800 to 1600 in bios)
DRAM frequency : 520(1040)mhz
timings 6, 6, 6, 18, 24
NB frequency : 2600mhz

While i was overclocking before i never did hit that wall where it wouldnt post or anything from cpu being to high but when i was done i added the 50mv anyway for increased stability and i really dont know if i ever did need it so i took it off and will now be testing to see if i can run it without the extra voltage if so that means less heat

You think i should turn down the HT link once more to be below 2000?
And if you think i should put the voltage back on the cpu or not?

Testing temp now!

Here are the timings, p95 has been going for 6 mins so far when it gets to about 15-20 ill check in with highest temps, and it seems that the reduced voltage etc has dropped temp alot! So far that is.
