i7 920. First time OC'ing. Real temp problem

Thread Starter
Hey forum. Newbie overclocker here and I need some help.
BCLK 192
Multiplier 19x
Vcore 1.2
LLC enabled
Vdimm-1.65
Rest on auto. Since not that high an overclock.
All power saving and enhanced halt state settings disabled.

Im running the blend test in prime 95.
Cpu-z shows the bclck being 192 whereas real temp shows it to be 168.(see the pic)

Any help is appreciated.

I just tried it with my rig, and both Real Temp 3.60 and CPU-Z 1.57 read the same. I don't know why your Real Temp is reading it wrong. I wouldn't worry about it and just trust CPU-Z. It has always been the most accurate for me.

Is this idling or running Prime95, if it is idling then those numbers are normal, this is how my i7-950 looks idling at 4.14 GHz.

It must have something to do with either the way your motherboard is reporting these values, the sensors on your motherboard, a compatibility issue with the program, or just a fault in the program itself.

The stock 920 has a power consumption of around 135W.

Mine constantly shows 147.34W.

Software programs are really the least accurate way to measure voltages and power. It's best to use a meter.

@ mm67 - I highly doubt your hard drives are at near freezing temperatures. smile.gif
