6950, no signal

Thread Starter
Hello everyone. I just got my Asus 6950 2GB. I plugged everything in, computer posts, boots, but i can't see any signal on screen. Could be my PSU, because i have the card with one 6-Pin and the 2 4-pin to 6-Pin adapter?

It could be the PSU yeah. I would rule out the other options first. Can you connect that Sony monitor with a DVI/VGA connection? (Whichever you aren't trying to use at the moment, to try a different option.) Alternatively, if the screen doesn't respond at all, maybe remove the card, wipe all the drivers and try again. That being said, even the auto detected driver Windows 7 uses shouldn't cause that.

Again, just check what you can, and then move on from there. Could be a bad card too.

You probably need a new power supply cuz your has two +12V rails (DC Output +12V1 = 18A DC Output +12V2 = 20 A) which is not very good
Find a single rail power supply get a 750W and it will be future prove

I say it's the card.

It happened to my old GTX470, had it replaced and it works after replacement.
If your PSU is 600w and is still healthy, I would say it is NOT your PSU - single rail or not. I did not look up your motherboard, but do you have the card in the same slot as your previous card (or working card)? I had this issue once where in BIOS I somehow set an option that makes the first PCI-e lane as primary. And I was beating my head on the wall why I will not get a display from the second PCI-e slot.

Ensure that the card is securely seated. I had this issue with my most recent card. Try booting the card without it screwed in. My card for some reason doesn't measure up to the screw holes (in the case) so when I put the screws in it came out of place. I have found a way around it by using a neighbouring blanking plate + screw to hold it in place.
