I would like to start Folding

Thread Starter
I am new to this folding bit. I am going to setup a server with Xenserver on it and run that. its a Dell Power edge 1600sc with dual xeons I think. Anyways its older but that dosn't matter. What do I need to know about folding and is this machine going to be good at that.. ?

Thanks,

Roachdawg

Not sure the PPD it will get, most likely it will be so much easier to fold on your i7 950.
But if you want to give it a try, follow this guide.

Well here is the thing I mean my i7 is on all day but I use it. Is folding going to be that much more intensive. All I do is game out on my machine, and the family uses it for internet. I don't know that much about folding yet. I was just thinking that it would be easier to just plug in the server let it fold and use it for a media server, VM it, maybe Trixx box for a phone server. Anyways thanks for the reply.

Why not put both folding? If your i7 is on all day for web browsing and such, folding won't hurt its usability
When you want to game on it, if you notice slowdowns and low FPS, shutdown the client and when you are finished gaming put it running again
