Razer Naga Epic

Thread Starter
Ok, here's the story. Bought a Razer Naga Epic last night because I'm playing a Prot Warrior in WoW and was having mobility issues. Was using it for raiding last night and felt that the battery depleted fairly quickly on me. My settings for the mouse (in wireless mode) were to have 1500 DPI, acceleration enabled and polling at 1000hz. My question to the community: What settings would you recommend on this mouse to strike a decent balance between performance and battery life? Does having a low polling rate really matter in an MMO? I bought the mouse for the number pad on the side, not the ~~~~~UBER 5600DPI~~~~~ or something equally silly. I'd just like people's thoughts on what settings work best for them when using this mouse wirelessly.

Thanks!

Edit: inb4 "I should pick a different mouse" or "the 3.5 sensor suxxx lolol", as well as "use it in wired mode". The mouse has been purchased (specifically because it's wireless!), and I'm quite happy with it. I'm not looking for opinions on the Naga Epic, just what settings get the most out of the mouse.

Man, you know everyone is going to tell you that you should have gotten a wired mouse!

On a side note, You should focus on keybinding every single one if your abilities to your keyboard/mouse buttons so that most of your mouse use is only for moving around. I don't think polling rate matters in an MMO. It's not like it's an FPS.

Turn acceleration off. Set it to 500hz. Use wired mode.

You've now turned your bad mouse setup into a decent one.

Ummnnn... I use 1000polling rate, average 1500dpi
It lasts around 19 hours, every 5 hours charge, mostly charged with wired.
Including games like bc2, mw2, arma2, surfing, watching movies.
No light, sleep mode 3 mins, 12 buttons are used on 5 profiles.
This is my first wireless mouse, so I don't have experience on wireless mouse.
I'm still doing the statistic

Your polling rate is too high. With my G700 if I max the polling rate I can kill my mouse in 1 nights session of gaming. Try lowering it to at least 500 and you'll see better results. I too play WoW (Blood DK) and honestly, even 500 polling is too high. You aren't flicking your mouse around shooting targets like you would be in a hardcore FPS, and since you're a tank like me, I know for a fact you'll mostly be standing there and tapping your aggro moves on the keyboard. The most you even really need your mouse for is when you're rotating the camera, seing as you (most ppl anyways) will still be using asdw to move.

Thanks, this is the type of response I was looking for. This is my first time tanking, and positioning and movement have never seemed so important. I played a Holy Priest in TBC and an Arcane Mage in WoTLK, but as long as I wasn't standing in _____ then movement wasn't a concern. The whole reason I bought the naga was because taking my fingers off the WASD cluster to activate abilities was getting people killed on fights that involved lots of movement and repositioning. I'm hoping having two options (number keys+thumb pad on the mouse) will solve my mobility and rotation issues.

Just for the record, I have a G9x that's always plugged in ready to be used. I bought the Razer Naga specifically to be wireless, and it'll remain that way. G9x for FPS, Naga for MMOs and RPGs.

also don't forget to turn the lighting down to dim or normal.

Reducing the polling to 500Hz and turning off the LED's really helps the battery life, I have a Razer Mamba and it really only hits 14hrs with the LED on and 1000Hz polling, this 14hrs is non stop gaming, when I reduced the settings down to 500Hz and LED off, it has gone over 14hrs and even survived a couple of more hours on to the next day of gaming session.
