LGA 1156 Motherboards...what the max ddr3 speed (not overclocked)

What is the max speed the ram slots support without the ram being overclocked?

I know its either 1333 or 1600, but I can't find anything in the owners manual that specifies.

yea depends, 1600 is common, however some boards support up to the 2000 speeds non overclocked.

On newegg under memory it shows:

Memory Standard
DDR3 2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066

But in the owners manual it never states anything about it...

Well then , it basically means that unless you tweak your Base clock setting, the maximum memory multiplier will lead to 1600MHz configuration.

That's what I have always thought, but someone told me that no LGA 1156 boards ran faster than 1333 without being overclocked.

Those are the standard settings for the processor itself, not the motherboard. The motherboard controls which memory mutliplier the processor can use.

Your friend was just slightly confused.
