iPhone 3gs 32GB or Nexus S? or iPhone 4? - Page 4

Hm, good to know - might have to have her do that sometime soon. It's been quite a while since I tried updating it for her. Just seemed bizarre they would release an update like that either 1. Knowing it would dramatically slow down some older phones (possibly to prompt them to buy new phones? Hard to say.) or 2. without testing to see what negative impacts it would have on older hardware.

While I haven't used Windows Mobile 7 (and I do think it looks great - were I buying a phone now I'd seriously have to give it a good look) I have a very hard time believing the OS is "100x easier" to use. Someone who's completely brain-dead could use iOS, since there is literally nothing to it aside from clicking on what app you want, downloading it and running it. And you don't even HAVE to know that much, if you don't want to. As far as the screen goes, eh - I suppose that's somewhat up to personal preference, but 480x800(HD7) vs 960x640(4) doesn't really seem like much of a comparison to me. That HD7 doesn't look bad at all though - if Win Mobile 7 is something you're interested in, I'm sure it's worth checking out, along with one of the Samsung phones (not sure which models - have a few friends who like them).

I swear WM7 is the best phone OS I've used(stock I mean), the menu is well laid out and easy to understand. the animations are sweet and as I'd said before, can be fun to use. As for the people saying businesses are developing for the iOS, WM7 has exchange built in, which as far as I know is used by the majority of businesses.

Resolution in a screen isn't everything, it doesn't tell us what the colours are like, or the clarity of it. I've found that my desire has much nicer and more natural and nice colours, and it looks clearer (don't know how to describe it really, you need to see it to understand). The HD7 uses the same screen as my desire so it looks awesome

If your interested in the emulator, go here, not sure of the legality of it though so if a mod tells me to take it down I will.

ok, I'm having trouble reading all of that but I'm assuming your saying 'but we have all these games, and all these awesome apps'. Well, all the good ones have been ported to android or came from android in the first place (expanding to other stores = more profit). As for the rest of your app store, it is total and utter crap (maybe 0.5% is relatively good). Now although android has the same problems, it isn't as bad (since there are no restrictions on what can be pt on, a larger majority of it is helpful).

Also, don't bring cindia (or however its spelt) into it, completely irrelevant, only talking about official app stores (its made by devs to distribute their apps, nobody elses advertising crap)

I have no real knowledge about the ios 4 update. My device runs killer under 4.21 and thats a 2008 device that came with 2.1... I still use win mo, and those phones got one official update, if youre lucky. I'm sorry, the unofficial roms are not "the best" even tho people put a lot of work into them.

Even the 1st iphone from 2007 is running ios 3 now. Same as your GF so you know other than the old hardware, its pretty good.

Win phone 7 phones, (what few actually sold) by Samsung were bricked via MS, ***** happens, I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose and they tested too.

Their better than stock, which has to count for something... devs are just trying to improve, not make it perfect, otherwise you are asking too much.

Mind you the first and second gen iphones aren't getting anymore updates, apple has a sneaky tactic of forcing you to upgrade by making the store unsupported on older versions of iOS

Very isolated cases, plus there were no issues on HTC's side.
