Plenty of Linux users also want some windows applications.

People hate apple not because the apps, there are other reasons. You have to take what is good from everything.

So all of that moaning they do about Apple, and all along they just want to have the Apple content without having the Apple hardware.

That is in no way, an attack on Android. It is just an observation.
People want the open-ness of Android AND the apps that iOS has. The only reason iOS has such a large app base is because it had a 2 year head start over Android and it controls a larger marketshare (for now at least).

If Apple made an iPhone that ran Android, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I love their hardware, I hate their OS.

Android already beats iOS at market share.

I don't care how geeky kids want to get, as long as my music is playing while I'm browsing the net, I consider that simultaneously enough. That, and not having to wait for the app to load because it switches to the other app near instantly is good good enough for me.

What about when you want to wait until a page loads or a file downloads and you want to play chess online in the same time.

Mac users want the apps that Windows has, but they don't want to buy a non-Apple product in order to use them.

So all of that moaning they do about Microsoft, and all along they just want to have the Windows content without having the non-Apple hardware.

Do you see what I did there?

If you don't think this was true... go back 10 years or so...

I'm using Linux and I run Windows apps with wine. If wine doesn't exist then it will be much harder to use Linux because Windos have that big market share and all apps are made for it.

This is the case right now with iPhone, they were first, they have a lot of apps, but they already lost a lot of market share and many developers will change their focus, or at least they will thread them equally.
