[urgent] help, new build

Thread Starter
so i ordered a bunch of new parts to build a new computer and they came in today. This is my first build and i'm relatively new to this.

So i finished putting everything in and hooking everything up etc. etc. so i go for a boot up, the computer boots up as normal but the BIOS screen doesn't pop up on start up, the light to my monitor just stays that amber color as if its on standby.

So i come to you asking, how do i fix this? could it be something i hooked up wrong or something worse? (i hope not)

P.S- i didnt know where else to post this but i really need help. Thanks

Do you have the motherboard sPeaker attached? Does it make any beeps?

Is your PC on? Are fans spinning, are hard drive lights flashing?

Sure the monitor's connected?

first try to reset the bios
turn it off, move the jbat1 jumper over for about 5 seconds, then back again
and hit the power button

what ram do you have?
if its ocz gold return it, horrible fail rates

No beeps is a good sign

I'm in my phone so can't really google the specs of your mobo. Does it have inboard graphics? If so, try booting with the inboard and the GPU removed.

Maybe try booting ad THEN plugging in a monitor.

Surely there'd be a beep (or several) from the mobo with a dead stick of RAM?

@OP. Does the harddrive have an os on it? If so, plug in speakers and listen for the windows start up sound. I guess that at the moment we don't even know if te PC is posting and you just can't see it!
